299: 錆びた聖剣
Sabeta seiken
(The Rusted Holy Sword)
Hearing the sound of crickets in an overgrown yard, Tsubasa finds an ancient, rusted-over sword in a box. Upon taking it inside and starting to clean it he reveals the name "Sanagi Sword". Immediately Raito and Refuto appear and snatch the sword away. They believe the sword is an ancient relic of the Mizuki Temple artisans. They explain that when it was forged a strange insect-like skin grew around the blade and when it was finally born the scythe was a gorgeous weapon of legend. The blade continued to grow and change over the years just as a locust sheds its shell as it grows, each time taking on a different appearance. Refuto sprays the blade with a chemical to force it to change once again, but when the shell cracks nothing is different. After removing the rust they realize that the blade says "Kusanagi" on it (in English) and learn that it is a foreign reproduction of the historical Kusanagi blade. Back at their temple, Raito and Refuto sit dejectedly never realizing that the tiny pair of scissors in the corner is the latest form of their lost Sanagi blade.

300: 髪がのびた
Kami ga nobita
(Growing Hair)
Rinne notices one day that his hair is getting long and unruly and he is badly in need of a haircut. That same day Sakura visits a salon for a trim where she notices a strange mannequin with a wig designed for the haircutters to practice on staring back at her from a closet in the salon. One of the employees says that the mannequin was thrown out earlier that morning but always seems to return somehow. Sakura buys the mannequin head to take to Rinne to see if he can undo the curse that seems to be upon it, but when she arrives at his apartment he will not come to the door. It seems while Rokumon was giving him a haircut he botched it badly leaving a gap snipped in Rinne's hair. Rokumon visits Sakura and tries to make excuses for Rinne's absence since it was his fault that Rinne's hair was messed up, but then the mannequin begins to attack. Rokumon begs off calling Rinne, not wishing to humiliate his master by making him show his bad haircut in front of Sakura, but finally Rinne arrives with a headband to hide his uneven bangs. It seems the mannequin head wishes to have long, black hair instead of the gapped up blonde cut it was given and so Rinne uses a special powder from the afterlife to give it long, luxurious locks. Finally the mannequin head is taken back to the salon for a professional cut and dye job which seems to satisfy its anger. Rinne decides to use the hair-growth powder on his own head hoping to fix Rokumon's less-than-professional haircut but it merely leaves him with long strands of black hair mixed in with his red.

301: れんげのライセンス
Renge no raisensu
(Renge’s License)
Kain is marshaling a group of shinigami to find the spirit of a raccoon which has invaded a shopping mall and is wrecking havoc. The captor will receive 5,000 yen, a reward Rinne is more than eager to claim for himself. It so happens that Renge also works at the shopping mall (as a janitor). The raccoon runs past making a mess and she angrily knocks it out, not realizing there is a reward. Kain sees her, rushes over and congratulates her on capturing the animal spirit. Kain mistakenly thinks Renge was a part of the hunting party, still not realizing that she never graduated from school and never attained her shinigami license. Renge makes an excuse that she left her license at home when he asks to see it so he might give her the reward she earned. After Kain departs Renge discovers someone's lost license among the debris knocked about by the raccoon spirit and decides to use it to forge a liscense for herself. With her new license in hand Renge begins to put her skills to the test and brings in many rogue and renegade spirits for their bounties leaving other shinigami like Rinne with not even scraps to find for rewards. Kain is quite impressed with Renge's work as he pays her for every spirit she brings in, but Rinne is increasingly frustrated that a demashigami is taking all his business from him and Renge becomes paranoid that he is going to reveal the truth about her forged license. As Kain leaves work one day he overhears other shinigami whispering about someone obtaining a forged license leaving him to wonder who the culprit could be.

302: ナンバー追跡
Nanbaa tsuiseki
(Number Chase)
Kain and Rinne follow up on the case of the counterfeit licenses and when they do a database search they come up with an address that had recently reported the loss of a shinigami license. Before they can get a read out on the name a gigantic electric eel ghost passes through the office and frying the computers. Armed with only an address Rinne is mildly surprised to find that Ageha was the one who misplaced her license. Initially Rinne is sidetracked by the oppulence of Ageha's lifestyle but eventually he gets down to business and speaks to her about the missing license. Ageha has Oboro fetch her license which seems to create a dead end in the investigation until the black cat pulls out dozens more, revealing that Ageha misplaces her's so often that she has many extras laying around. Ageha explains that she did indeed lose one of her licenses while at the shopping mall when the racoon spirit dashed through the store she was in and that must be how the thief obtained one to make a counterfeit copy from. Rinne immediately goes to confront Renge once again, threatening to reveal her as the thief but the wily girl threatens to out Rinne as the son of Sabato which ensures he will keep quiet. Just then Kain also arrives at Renge's apartment and sees a kit used to make counterfeit licenses sitting on the floor.

303: 信じたい
Shinjitai
(I Want to Believe)
Sakura watches as Kain marches out of Renge's apartment with the counterfeit kit in hand, her elderly black cat vainly trying to wrestle it from his grip. Sakura takes him into Rinne's apartment next door as he explains his suspicions that Renge is likely the culprit behind the counterfeit scheme much to his disappointment. The old cat finally reveals her name is Tama as she loyally tries to snatch the counterfeit kit from Kain just as Ageha arrives and muses that Kain is trying to cover for Renge due to his fondness for her. Next door Rinne and Renge listen in through a portal and Renge is hopeful that Kain will confirm some sort of affection for her. As she carries on with these accusations Ageha notices on the counterfeit kit that it is from the Damashigami Company and she plans on showing that Renge is also a member when Renge knocks Ageha out by reaching through the portal. Rinne then steps in and explains that the kit is one of his father's new products and Kain immediately assumes that it could not possibly be Renge's then. Everything seems to be going in Renge's favor until Kain asks as one final precaution to check the number on her shinigami license. Ageha smugly slaps Renge on her back sending her license flying but Rinne catches it and slips his own license behind hers so that when Kain checks the number it is not on the list of bogus licenses they had established. Renge manages to escape Kain's suspicions thanks to Rinne's help. For her part Renge offers Rinne a single towel sent to her from a set Kain gave her as an apology for suspecting her of anything inappropriate.

304: ブーケが欲しい
Buuke ga hoshii
(I Want the Bouquet)
Rinne, Sakura and Tsubasa investigate a wedding hall where something supernatural seems to be disrupting marriages recently. Particularly the entity strikes at the moment the bride tosses the bouquet, always sweeping down and stealing it away only to shout that it is the wrong one, slam it to the ground and fly off. Rinne pursues the spirit to the bell tower where it hides and coaxes it down. The ghost is a young woman who seems to be dressed for a wedding herself. Each time the wedding hall bells ring the ghost flits off to snatch a thrown bouquet and each times tosses it away after inspecting it, though when asked about it she cannot seem to recall what it is she expects to find within the flowers. Rinne prevents the ghost from dashing off and grabbing another tossed bouquet and upon seeing the smiling face of the girl who catches the flowers the ghost recalls the special bouquet that was made for her friend who was getting married. The bouquet was filled with tiny pictures and was designed to pop open when thrown in the air, a bouquet that she made for her friend herself. She recalls that she was in an accident on the way to the wedding and failed to make it there alive to see the bouquet toss herself. The ghost goes on to explain that the bouquet was a rather passive aggressive act of revenge on the bride who had a habit of innocently stealing away all the boys that the ghost had crushes on and would inevitably end send out pictures of her on many happy dates. After further investigation one of the staff at the wedding hall admits that he dropped the bouquet before the ceremony and caused it to explode, consequently the ghost's well laid scheme never even took place.

305: 魔女の集会
Majo no shuukai
(The Witch's Coven)
Sakura is walking through the neighborhood when she sees Rinne and Annette negotiating on a price to have Rokumon come and do help Annette with something. After coming to terms Rinne heads home and wakes up the next morning to the smell of delicious food. When he reaches for a slice however he discovers his black cat has been turned into a pizza. Annette tries to break the curse but a barrier prevents her best efforts as changing Rokumon back to normal. Unfortunately Rokumon does not remember what happened after Annette took him with her but soon she is able to clarify things using her crystal ball. It seems Rokumon was an unwilling participant in a witches' coven where he was magically changing into a pizza. Know that they are able to see the face of the elderly witch who cursed Rokumon they set out in search of her hoping to force her to break the curse. Once they finally track the old witch down they arrive just in time to see her funeral is being carried out. Rinne realizes that only she can break the curse on Rokumon and so he tosses on his haori and hurries to the afterlife to where he finds her spirit on its way to the Wheel of Reincarnation. He quickly pulls from back into the realm of the living and tells her to fix Rokumon, but the old witch tells her it is impossible.

306: 集会の秘密
Shuukai no himitsu
(Secret Meeting)
Rinne soon learns why solving Rokumon's problem is considered impossible by the old witch- it seems the curse is a result of a drunken spell-casting session when she and the other witches in her coven had too good of a time. Despite the curse, the witches treat Rokumon well and shower him with offerings of coins. Tsubasa is called in to help but when he realizes the head witch is a ghost he nearly destroys everything in his forceful attempt to exorcise her. Finally with the help of more alcohol and some goading by Annette the old ghost witch is able to put things back as they should be for Rokumon.

307: 赤い百葉箱
Akai hyakuyoubako
(The Red Weather Hutch)
A spirit zips out of a construction site one day as Sakura passes by with her friends. Once at school she begins to notice spirits piling up and wonders why Rinne seems to be allowing them to run rampant. Rinne however has ceased to receive offerings from the weather hutch which has suddenly taken on a reddish hue. Rinne investigates the hutch once he discovers that something inside is devouring the offerings made that are intended for him and out pops a giant fox wearing a red bib- Inari, the god of prosperity. Upon further investigation Rinne returns to the construction site where he discovers that the small shrine Inari lived in has been left to decay and the fox statues within have been knocked out. Upon finding the pair, Inari tosses one away to try and prevent his return to the shrine but ultimately relents when Sakura correctly deduces that Inari had no longer been receiving any offerings which made his old shrine undesirable. Rinne explains to Inari that no food will come to the hutch if he cannot work and Inari seems to realize that the hutch will soon be equally undesirable and willingly returns to his statue.

308: 湯たんぽをどうぞ
Yutanpo o douzo
(Have a Hot Water Bottle)
Sakura, Rika and Miho pay a visit to their classmate, Nukumizu, who shows them a hot water bottle that was carefully sealed up in a box following the death of her grandfather. The girl explains that after tossing the hot water bottle out it mysteriously returned to her home the next day. Day after day she would throw the hot water bottle away only for it to reappear in her grandfather's room with water spilling out of it onto the tatami mat beneath it. She begs for Sakura to take the bottle away and of course Rika and Miho immediately flee in horror. Sakura takes the hot water bottle and gives it to Rinne who is overjoyed to have such a modest luxury in his shabby apartment. That evening he fills it with water and suddenly a ghost girl appears and adds more water to the bottle before disappearing. Rinne hardly seems bothered by the ghost's sudden appearance and hugs the bottle against his chest only to feel a severe chill run over him. The next day Rinne takes the bottle back to the Nukumizu home to inquire if anyone might have a grudge against the late grandfather. He fills the bottle once more causing the ghostly girl to appear and uses a ghost paint ball to make her visible to everyone. The ghost reveal that she worked at a boarding house for students and felt sorry for one young man in particular who had a frigid, dilapidated room where that was very cold during winter. She would loan him the hot water bottle each evening but one evening when she was bringing it to him she found a girl in his room and was shocked by his betrayal. She died soon thereafter but her spirit would visit him and fill the hot water bottle each evening in hopes that he would never forget her. Rinne deduces that her grudge inhabits and chills the water inside the bottle unknowingly and sets out to correct these old problems. Rinne summons the old man's ghost from the afterlife and he promptly confesses his feelings for the young ghost girl which overjoys her. She thanks the old man as she starts to fade away and calls him "Moteki" only for him to correct her and explain he is not Moteki from Room 1 but Nukumizu from Room 2. The ghost is shocked but has already started to fade away after believing her lingering attachments to the world of the living were solved.
