Chapter 369: こわくありません
Kowakuarimasen

(I'm Not Scared)
Rinne is summoned to his grandmother's house and told that Kuroboshi III has run away from home. It seems that he ran away after hearing his grandfather and Tamako whispering about why she had not formally contracted with the little cat due to his fear of ghosts. In the living world Sakura and her friends are wandering through the neighborhood when they pause to watch a construction company tearing down an old house. While they watch they hear the ghostly voice of a cat howling. Sakura reports this to Rinne who brings Rokumon with him when they start their own investigation. Sitting on the roof looking very dirty and tired is Kuroboshi III with a female ghost cat. Rinne is shocked that Kuroboshi III is not afraid of this little ghost, but he reveals that he used a "cat-tooth plug," a tool that can be plugged into a cat ghost in order to turn them into a human-cat like the black cats that the shinigami work with. By changing the little kitten's appearance Kuroboshi III is able to remain calm in her presence. The little girl cat explains that she was abandoned and Rinne realizes this would be a good opportunity for Kuroboshi III to learn how to assist with exorcisms and become a proper black cat who could work with his grandmother. Using the shinigami lantern to view how much the little kitten loved her family before she was left behind, Rinne tries to learn how best to help her, though Kuroboshi III often blurts out things in the heat of the moment that are not helpful. Sakura notices by looking into the lantern projections of the little cat's memory that all of the houses in the neighborhood looked identical and that it was possible she picked the wrong house to return to one day. Rinne places a tsukumogami seal on the roof of the house they are on and it reveals it was lived in by an elderly couple, not the young family the kitten belonged to. Upon realizing that her family lived next door the kitten is able to forgive them and pass on peacefully though Kuroboshi III laments not getting to learn her name.

Chapter 370: 身辺整理
Shinpenseiri

(Putting Your Affairs in Order)
Bijin, Ageha's sister, come to Rinne, begging for him to talk to his father on her behalf. It seems that Sabato has broken up with her and she cannot stand the thought of being without Sabato. Ageha arrives and tells Bijin that their parents are ready for her to return home but she refuses, insisting that she only wants to be with Sabato. Rinne agrees to investigate and finds his father having lunch with a woman at hotel. Bijin watches with her scythe in hand, saying she may have to go to jail after watching Sabato betray her so flagrantly. Suddenly Sabato creates a tornado and disappears, abandoning the woman he was having lunch with and flying away. They follow Sabato from date to date where he repeats the same action as he flees the women in the middle of their outings. When Rinne confronts his father about what is going on, Sabato reveals that he has run out of money which Rinne scoffs at, remarking that his father has always scammed money from others. Bijin explains that Sabato always paid for all their dates and never left a woman stuck with a bill while he was courting her. Sabato pulls out his credit card revealing that it expired and he can no longer pile up debt while out having fun. Everyone is shocked that some anonymous individual sent Sabato a legitimate credit card to use without him having to have applied using a fraudulent name. When it becomes clear what has happened and Sabato and Bijin seem as if they must part a pile of mail arrives containing another card for Sabato. Everyone is shocked that anyone would dare to give Sabato a card and Bijin reveals that it was she and Ageha's parents who gave it to him in order to keep her happy.

Chapter 371: 語る声
Kataru koe

(The Narrating Voice)
One afternoon Sakura hears a strange voice chanting over and over that something is "terrible". She reports the voice to Rinne who uses a color paint ball to reveal that the odd voice is coming from the ghost of a parrot. Once Rinne brings the bird back to his apartment it begins to repeat a conversation it heard. "Where is the money?" followed by "I don't know!" comes from bird. Everyone imagines different scenarios that the bird must have lived in- a wealthy family who misplaced massive amounts of money, a shady thug who wasted the money of his young girlfriend. Suddenly the parrot says more, imitating a voice that says "it hurts!" and another than seems to demand money. The parrot flies away and Rinne, Sakura and Rokumon pursue it when they discover a poster for the missing bird with a 10,000 yen reward. The name on the poster is for a bird named "Momo-chan" and when Rinne asks the bird it parrots "Momo-chan is cute", confirming this is indeed the 100,000 yen bird. Momo-chan then squawks "I won't throw it away!" Rinne and Sakura find the house where the bird lived and see the same scene playing out. An old woman shouts "I won't throw it away!" as a younger man hauls a large parrot perch out of the house. The owner is no young woman, but an elderly 72 year old, while Hiroshi is 50. The paint ball wears off, making Momo invisible to its owners again. Hiroshi tells Sakura that Momo disappeared six months earlier. The old woman yells at Hiroshi as she looks through her purse wanting to know where her money has gone and Hiroshi responds that he has no idea, that she has hidden it somewhere strange once again, which mirrors the conversation that Momo had repeated to Sakura and Rinne earlier. She then starts choking on her food prompting Hiroshi to slap her on the back until she coughs up her food though she blathers "it hurts!" which Momo had also repeated earlier too. Rinne uses another paint ball to show the bird which tells the old woman goodbye before passing on. Because Momo was dead Rinne does not receive a reward, but does get a little food for his trouble.

Chapter 372: 新しい友達
Atarashii tomodachi

(New Friend)
Rinne is shocked when news arrives that Matsugo has a new best friend, seemingly relieving Rinne of his annoying and endless unwanted attention. Everyone is shocked to see Matsugo's new friend is Anju, the young girl who has lusted after Matsugo quietly from the sidelines. Perhaps more surprising is seeing them holding hands. Matsugo sees nothing unusual about friends holding hands, but everyone else has always believed that Matsugo preferred the company of men. Kuromitsu, Matsugo's black cat, explains that Matsugo simply does not know how to behave properly around others, often being overly friendly. Sakura congratulates Anju on having been able to get close to Matsugo, having know that she had a crush on the young man. However when she says this to Anju, she angrily knocks Matsugo away shouting that she is already at her limits with him. She explains she finally worked up the courage to tell Matsugo that she wanted to be friends by shouting into his ear with a megaphone, but after that he became incredibly excited by the idea. For days on end they went on dates and had fun until finally she told him she wanted to kiss him. Anju closed her eyes and rather than kissing her he drew on her face and ran away. It seems Matsugo does not have a proper understand of what true friendships are meant to be. Rinne makes an unusual proposition, telling Matsugo that he will take him and the others to a legendary friendship spot in the Japan that will cement the bonds of friendship forever. Anju believes that Matsugo is too innocent to understand his feelings for her. Once Matsugo and Anju have gone ahead, Rinne reveals to the others that this place he has brought them is known as "Red Bride Church". Rinne explains that during the Showa Era a couple visited the church with no intention of getting married and then suddenly married one another and then died bloody deaths. Because the couple could not be together in life, they force everyone who enters the church to marry one another. Rinne hopes to be rid of Matsugo through this underhanded method but he does not realize Matsugo is familiar with the "Red Bride Church" himself. The ghosts in charge of the church grow frustrated when their plans are foiled and decide that they will claim Anju who donned the wedding ring rather than take she and Matsugo both. They open a portal to hell and and Anju's ring begins to pull her into the dark void. Finally Matsugo is spurred into action, leaping to help Anju and exorcising the wedding ghosts to pull her back from the void. Anju nervously shoves Matsugo when Sakura comments that they look like a real couple, but it quickly becomes clear that Matsugo finds Anju's friendship is just as important to him as Rinne's who he hugs awkwardly.

Chapter 373: 赤い花嫁教会
Akai hanayome kyoukai

(Red Bride Church)
At the Red Bride Church, Rinne and the others watch eagerly as Anju and Matsugo enter the church and meet with the ghostly bride and groom. Rinne even uses a spirit deoderizer to make the evil spirits appear as if they are good and uncorrupted. The spirits press Matsugo to place a ring they provide onto Anju's finger. Matsugo seems hesitant at first, though Anju coyly presses for him to go through with it explaining that it will swear eternal friendship between the two. Suddenly Matsugo uses a wand to reveal the true appearance of the spirits- covered in blood and looking rather ghastly. Matsugo notes that he has known all along that the Red Bride Church was no aid to fostering friendships at all. Other ghosts soon appear and try to force the rings on Anju and Matsugo and even Anju tries to forcibly place Matsugo's ring on his hand and seal their unholy marriage. Matsugo summons the ghosts of many sportsmen to rough up the wedding ghosts who are trying to help Anju place the ring on him. Rinne steps in and tosses out love letters to the sportsmen, luring them away in hopes that Matsugo will have the ring placed on his finger and be rid of him. Kuromitsu, Matsugo's black cat, is simply excited that her master may be awakening to the possibility that there can be romance between men and women rather than just friendship.

In the afterlife Rinne goes to the Mikazukido, Raito and Refuto's scythe repair shop where he is having work done on his weapon. He finds a note saying the rabbits are gone and many other shinigami on site already. The brother and sister left behind the finished tools of all their other customers except for Rinne's who's scythe is the only one missing. It seems that Refuto has set up shop at the furnace behind the high school. Refuto explains that debt collectors came calling causing him to flee the Mikazukido and go into hiding. He claims to have been close to developing a new scythe but it was cancelled and along with it his hopes of getting out of debt. When Sakura asks Refuto where Raito is he explains that she gave him a legendary scroll that explained how to build the Phoenix Scythe and told him it would be the future of Mikazukido. Then, that same day, Raito disappeared. Rinne suspects Raito ran away as part of some scheme, but Refuto is distraught without her. When Rinne seems indifferent to Refuto's plight and demands to know where his scythe is, Refuto reveals that he is holding the weapon hostage by threatening to let scythe eating creatures devour it unless Rinne helps him find his sister. Once Rinne has the weapon Raito finally reveals the contents of the box- a series of photographs of dangerous looking underworld figures that she secretly photographed. Chapter 377: プールの落とし物
Puuru no otoshimono

(Lost in the Pool)
Sakura and Ichigo visit Rinne at the pool where he is working. It seems a ghost has been haunting the entire pool complex and spooking the customers. While Rinne wonders if it is case of a single ghost or multiple he sees that Shoma is also at the pool investigating the case. Ichigo decides to have some fun with Shoma, realizing that he is there to poach Rinne's business and says it is a shame he cannot stay and play with her. Shoma promises to quickly deal with the ghost and get back to having fun. On the diving board he spies Rinne striking up a conversation with a young ghost boy and immediately leaps up into the air with his scythe, ruining Rinne's opportunity to find out what is keeping the ghost in the realm of the living. During the commotion the ghost escapes only for Rinne to later find him inspecting the floor where he claims he is searching for his lost wallet. When the little ghost boy next sees Shoma he knocks him into the pool, saying he felt there was something about him that made him deserve it. Soon he begins to explain his situation to Rinne. He had been on a date to the pool with a young classmate and placed his wallet in the locker. When it came time to leave and continue their date after having fun at the pool his wallet was gone. The ghost could not bring himself to ask to borrow money from the girl. He decided to climb the high dive to get a good vantage point to scan the area for his wallet when his date, swimming below him, encouraged him to jump. When she swam away he hurried back down the diving board but slipped on the stairs and died. Using their shinigami tools Rinne and Shoma are able to make the ghost think his wallet is at the bottom of the pool and then encourage him to jump in and retrieve it. He brings up an illusory little frog purse much to everyone's amusement and then is able to pass on.

Chapter 378: 未来のワンピース
Mirai no wanpiisu

(Future Dress)
Sakura watches one of her classmates in the lunch line quietly ordering a pudding and then sneaking away to eat it under the staircase in the hall. Just as she is about to take a bite an invisible force slaps the pudding away from her. The girl, Asari Furugi, is taken by Sakura to speak to Rinne about this unusual occurrence. Asari takes Rinne, Sakura and Rokumon to her home and shows them a dress that she thinks is somehow haunting her. She explains that she found the dress in some old things belonging to her mother and thought it looked cute and retro. Upon trying it on the zipper could not be pulled into place and Asari thought that perhaps she weighed too much. It was soon after that the invisible force began to disrupt Asari's meals to try to force her to lose weight. Sakura tries it on as well and even for her the zipper will no go up. Looking through an old photo album Asari shares a picture of her very thin grandmother. Rinne uses a channeling doll to create a copy of Asari's grandmother and when Asari has her try on the dress the channeling doll is squeezed so tight that it explodes, upsetting Rinne who lost money on it. Using a tsukumogami seal Rinne tries to make the dress explains what it wants and it promptly demands to be worn, which seems like an impossibility. With seemingly no one able to wear the dress Rinne uploads the photo of Asari's grandmother and edits the image, erasing a few inches off her waist before reluctantly uploading it to another channeling doll which is now small enough to wear the dress and allow the dress to fulfill its desires.
