Episode Summary by Yuji Nunokawa [1]
Urusei Yatsura's voice recordings are done every Saturday. I've been involved in many productions over the years, but I don't think I've ever been involved in such a friendly and cheerful atmosphere. Please look forward to
Urusei Yatsura, where the voice actors will be performing while checking the broadcast script. Finally, a request from our production company. We are overjoyed to receive more and more letters and phone calls from fans every day. However, at the same time, we are also suffering from problems such as enthusiastic fans fighting over cels. Just recently, a fan who had given up on his desire to steal a cel was caught by a policeman on patrol and was taken into custody.
[2] Also, the cels used in this program are sold at a certain anime shop, but our production company does not handle them. We also receive letters with cash enclosed, but as mentioned above, please forgive us.

Footnotes
- [1] Yuji Nunokawa (布川ゆうじ) is the founder of Studio Pierrot, and you can read a more in depth interview with him here.
- [2] Cel theft was a tremendous problem in the 80s and 90s as fans were desperate to get any sort of unique goods for their favorite series. Cels were often thought to have no use by the animation studios after they had been used for an episode and so they would be thrown away or fans would break into the studios and steal boxes of cels to resale themselves. This is referenced in the Studio Gainax OVA, Otaku no Video (おたくのビデオ).
