Thirty-five years ago, when the cast was announced, I was still a newcomer and I got fan letters griping, "Who are you?" and "Get off the show now!".
About three months after the show aired, I received a lot of letters of apology saying things like "You're perfect" and "The show's funny".
Now it's the age of social media. There will be a lot of complaints and pros and cons flying around (laughs).
"Bring it on. I'll beat you all to a pulp!" is what the red pigtails are saying in my head. "I can't calm down..."
Back in the studio! It's so much fun.

All the characters are unique, and I thought the exchanges between Ranma and Akane were really cute and not at all straightforward.

I'm honored to be in charge of the opening theme for a work that is loved by so many people.
