Animage 1982 January
A look at upcoming episodes.

  • Sleeping Beauty Princess Kurama (episode 17, 12/16) [1]
  • Athletic Woman Hell (episode 18)
  • Pitter-Patter Christmas Eve Part 1 & Part 2 (30 min) (episode 19, 12/23) Lum's entourage is jealous of Lum's love for Ataru, so they plan to summon Ataru with a fake love letter and get him in trouble.
  • There will be no program on December 30th due to a special year-end program.
  • Ataru and Genji Go to Heian-kyo (episode 20, 1/6) Ataru and friends are playing karuta and suddenly, for no apparent reason, the scene shifts to the Heian period. However, if it had remained like this it would have been fine, but halfway through, the modern era and the Heian period are mixed up, which causes a big problem.
I Want to Know.
Q.It's interesting, as I expected. Ran-chan is especially cute. So, I would really like to ask you, could you tell me about Hirano-san, who is the voice of Lum-chan, and give me some information about her profile? Shu Yokoki, (14 years old) Tochigi City, Fukushima Setsuko
Fumi Hirano: First of all, I'm from Nishi-Ogikubo, Tokyo. I was born on April 23, 1955. I'm 154 cm tall, weigh 41 kg, and my measurements are 80, 56, and 82 from top to bottom. This is my first voice acting role as Lum-chan, but I'm also active as a DJ on NHK Radio's Hashire! Kayokyoku and a reporter on Fuji TV's Ogawa Hiroshi Show. [2] My hobbies are diverse, and include jazz dance, roller hockey, and collecting stationery. I'm a member of Haikyo (Actors' Association).

Footnotes
  • [1] For the sake of creating as accurate a translation of the historical record as possible we have left the episode numbers identical to what they were listed as in the original periodical this article appeared in, however these episode numbers do not match the numbering convention that most fans and producers use in regards to Urusei Yatsura in the present day. The confusion stems from the early episodes airing two unique 15 minute episodes in one 30 minute block. The links will link to the correct episode with the number reflecting the unified numbering system.
  • [2] Oshiaberi Kayokyoku (日野ミッドナイトグラフィティ 走れ!歌謡曲/Hino Midnight Graffiti Run! Popular Songs) ran from November 19, 1968 to March 27, 2021. The show was specifically aimed at overnight truck drivers who drove cross country. They could call in from 3 to 5 AM and request songs to keep their energy up and motivation high. Hiroshi Ogawa's Show (小川宏ショー) was a morning news show that ran from May 1965 to March 1982.
