Ranma 1/2 Cour 2 Announced
Ranma 1/2 Season/Cour 2 "season 2" (traditionally "cour 2", but most Japanese outlets are using the "season" term" in their announcement) has been announced by both Rumiko Takahashi and the official Ranma 1/2 anime's official Twitter. No date for the debut was given, only confirmation that it would happen. The official account shared a drawing by character designer Hiromi Taniguchi. Inuyasha Added to School Manga Ban in Tennessee
Two Tennessee school districts (Rutherford County & Wilson County) have removed a combined list of over 150 titles from school libraries. Affected manga include Inuyasha as well as other Shonen Sunday series Detective Conan/Case Closed, and other popular works including Attack on Titan, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure, Akira, Fist of the North Star, Hunter x Hunter, and Alice 19th. The Age-Appropriate Materials Act of 2022 definition of obscentity was expanded on July 1, 2024 to include: any material "containing nudity or describes or depicts sexual excitement, sexual conduct, excess violence or sadomasochistic abuse." Kazuo Umezu (1936-2024)

Profoundly sad to report that prolific mangaka Kazuo Umezu (楳図かずお) passed away on October 28th. Umezu published alongside Rumiko Takahashi in both Shonen Sunday and Big Comic Spirits, and Takahashi briefly worked as an assistant to him for three days before she began Urusei Yatsura.
