Osamu Kirin
Osamu Kirin is Towa's teacher at her new school, St. Gabriel's Academy. Despite Towa arriving late for her first day, Kirin-sensei seems particularly relaxed about her attendance and perchant for getting into fights.
Kirin lays low in the modern era until the Grim Comet begins to approach. The comet is unnoticable to others, but he is able to sense its approach. Through him Kirinmaru in the past is also able to tell that in the future the comet will return once more. It is revealed that while Riku is made from Kirinmaru's severed horn, Osamu Kirin is the embodiment of his lost right arm. In the modern era he comes to appreciate humanity and human culture, but when he learns that demonkind has become mere folklore he hopes to install Rion, Kirinmaru's deceased daughter who has been brought back to life, as the king of the world and help humanity remember the great powers of demons.
The Meaning Behind the Name - 希林理
"Kirin" (希林) is a common Japanese name. While the name is phonetically the same as Kirinmaru it is spelled with different kanji (麒麟 vs 希林). Osamu is also a common name. The kanji (理) can mean "reason" or "logic".
