In battlefields and other scenes of immense violence, so much human blood may be shed on the ground that it is sucked up in great quantities by the roots of certain trees. These unfortunate plants grow up nourished by the carnage that surrounds them, and so, knowing no other sustenance, they begin to thirst for the blood of human beings and thus are transformed into dangerous monsters. Waiting motionless, the jubokko appears to be nothing more than a normal tree, until some unsuspecting person passing beneath is snatched up, murdered, and sucked dry by its rapacious branches.

Relevance to Inuyasha

Ninmenka, the demonic tree that catches Naraku's interest is a perfect example of a jubokko.
