Hitomi Annette Anematsuri
Hitomi Annette Anematsuri is a beautiful young woman of French and Japanese origin who descends from a long line of European witches. She is first encountered by Rika, Miho and Sakura working part-time as a fortune teller at the local mall. Rinne takes an interest in her peep ball, which is in fact an actual Shinigami tool that does enable the owner to see into the future. Eventually Annette is hired full time as a teacher at Sankai High school and is placed in charge of Rinne and Sakura's class.
Annette has a love of all things expensive and frequently lives above her means. While she is a caring and compassionate teacher, at her heart she is a lazy young adult who eschews hard work in favor of playing video games, shopping and living off her family. She values money because of what it can buy her, and often uses Rinne's poverty to hire him to do things she is too lazy to do herself or simply is unable to do. When it comes time to pay the bill however, she tries to wiggle out of it. She has great affection for her students and enjoys telling their fortunes in class, but her powerful Peep Ball becomes the focus of both Shinigami and demonic attention as both Masato, and to an extent Rinne, want to get their hands on it for various reasons.
The Meaning Behind the Name - 姉祭・アネット・瞳
Annette's last name "Anematsuri" (姉祭) is written with the kanji for "older sister" and "festival". Hitomi (瞳) means "pupil" (of an eye).
