Kuidaore Taro (also known as Kuidaore Ningyo/Doll) is the mascot of the eight story Cui-daore restaurant in the Dotonburi district of Osaka. His name, and the name of the restaurant, is derived from the Japanese phrase "Kyou no Kidadore, Osaka no Kuidaore" (Dress (in kimonos) till you drop in Kyoto, eat till you drop in Osaka). Kuidaore Taro has become a major tourist attraction and is a national icon in Japan. In 1992 when the Hanshin Tigers were in the Central playoffs there were fears that Kuidaore Taro would be thrown off the Ebisubashi Bridge, just as the Colonel Sanders statue was in 1985.

Relevance to Ranma 1/2

In volume 37, Saffron's manservant goes to check on his lord and finds Kuidaore Taro instead.
