Dust Spot!!
Dust Spot!! Contains:
  • Dust Spot!!
  • Shake Your Buddha
  • Kemo's 24 Hours
  • ?'s Illness
Notes: This book is actually the first collection of Takahashi's short stories ever published. The name, "Dust Spot!!" is the Japanese title of what Viz renamed "Wasted Minds". Both "Dust Spot!!" and "Shake Your Buddha" would later be collected again, but "Kemo's 24 Hours" and "?'s Illness" can only be found here. I found this book at a used book store in Osaka, but outside of Japan it is quite difficult to find.

Rumic World Vol. 1
Contains:
  • Firetripper
  • When My Eyes Got Wings
  • The Laughing Target
  • Sleep and Forget
Notes: This was the book that coined the "Rumic World" name. It also reprints the color pages for "Firetripper," which is the only title from this collection that was originally partially in color. These stories have been published in English.

Rumic World Vol. 2
Contains:
  • War Council
  • Those Selfish Aliens
  • Maris the Chojo
  • The Golden Gods of Poverty
  • That Darn Cat
  • Time Warp Trouble
  • A Cry for Help
  • The Face Pack
Notes: None of the stories collected here contained color pages, so instead the color illustrations from the covers of Shonen Sunday from which these stories were originally printed were included. A new drawing of Maris was also done on foil. These stories are available in English.

Rumic World Vol. 3
Contains:
  • Wedded Bliss
  • The Entrepreneurial Spirit
  • Dust Spot!!
Notes: Although "Dust Spot!!" has color illustrations, those were not reprinted here. Instead "Dust Spot!!" stickers and the color Shonen Sunday covers were included. "Dust Spot!!" is five chapters long, so the book is not nearly as short as the three stories suggest. Like the previous volumes, this set of stories is also available in English.

Notes: This book marks the beginnings of Takahashi's "Big Comics Special" collections. Known in the United States as "Rumic Theater" these stories tend to focus on adult relationships and are usually more realistic. This book reprints the color pages for "The Tragedy of P", "The House of Garbage", and "One Hundred Years of Love". This is the only "Rumic Theater" set of stories available in English.

Rumiko Takahashi Selection
Contains:
  • War on the Back
  • Equation of Nirvana
Notes: This gem is one of the rarest Takahashi items ever made. It contains two stories from her days as a college student prior to being hired by Shogakukan. Only 350 of these books were made, Group A consisted of 50 books and were given to the people responsible for manufacturing the book. These were signed by Takahashi. In Group B 300 were sold to the general public, and contained a reproduction signature and drawing of Spark Enjoji. We paid several hundred dollars for our copy, and nowadays I have seen a copy selling for roughly $1,000. The collection was published August 22, 1986. It was published by Ginreishousha, and our copy is Group B #285.

Kemo Kobiru
Contains:
  • Bye-Bye Road
  • A Band of Young Ruffians
  • Happiness Body Synthesis (Golden Gods of Poverty)
Notes: Kemo Kobiru collects three more of Takahashi's doujinshi stories from her college days. Both "Bye-Bye Road" and "A Band of Young Ruffians" can be found elsewhere but this is the only place to find "Happiness Body Synthesis" which is the original version of "Golden Gods of Poverty" in its more rough, amateur state. Takahashi created a more detailed version of this story and republished it with Shogakukan as "Golden Gods of Poverty".

Vivid Collection
Contains:
  • Thus Half of Them Are Gone
  • Bye-Bye Road
  • A Band of Young Ruffians
  • Equation of Nirvana
  • A full page illustration
Notes: This is a very expensive, collection of stories compiled from the work Takahashi published in her college's manga club magazine, Vivid (びびっと/Bibitto), which she was co-founder of. There is some overlap with the above "Kemo Kobiru" collection, which features work collected under her original pen name. A limited number of these were published. Our copy is numbered 31 in an unknown print run. The other information states that it was printed December 20, 1980 and published December 31, 1980.

Idol A volume 1
Contains:
  • My Sweet Sunday
Notes: The first volume of Mitsuru Adachi's serial also contains his collaboration with Rumiko Takahashi, "My Sweet Sunday".

Shonen Sunday Graphic: Firetripper
Contains:
  • Interviews
  • Character Designs
  • Script
Notes: This is the companion book to the Firetripper OVA. The book, along with the other Shonen Sunday graphics are quite rare. It contains the entire Japanese script for the OVA, an ani-manga of Firetripper, sheet music for Presentiment, color Takahashi drawings from Firetripper, and a board game in which you navigate through the worlds of Firetripper, Urusei Yatsura and Maison Ikkoku.

Shonen Sunday Graphic: Maris the Chojo
Contains:
  • Sheet Music
  • Character Designs
  • Script
Notes: Like the other Shonen Sunday Graphics, this has a ton of great stuff. It includes a guide on how to make your own Power Harness like the one Maris wears, interviews with Takahashi and the cast and crew. It also shows some of the character design work Takahashi herself did for the OVA.

Shonen Sunday Graphic: The Laughing Target
Contains:
  • Ani-Manga
  • Location Designs
  • Short Story Article
Notes: The Laughing Target Shonen Sunday Graphic contains the same sort of things the previous two did, including character designs, sheet music and interviews, as well as an article on some of Takahashi's other short stories that had been released at this time.

Rumiko Takahashi Theater Supplement: O's Tragedy, O's Comedy
Contains:
  • Analysis of Big Comic Stories
  • Polls
  • Interview
Notes: This odd little book compares the old salary men from Takahashi's "Rumic Theater" works such as "The Tragedy of P", "The Executive's Dog" and "Red Bouquet" to their real life archetypes. It also contains an interview with Takahashi. The polling took place online in 2005 and I actually submitted a survey for it.
