Lum A girl on a telegraph pole

This picture is a scene from "How I've Waited For You" in volume 3 chapter 9. I was so moved by the scene that every time I saw a telegraph pole, I thought to myself, "There is no girl in real life who would sit on a telegraph pole and weep. *sigh*" I was in the third year of junior high school at the time. It was a true sign of puberty. After that, I became a manga artist and was able to serialize my work in Shonen Sunday, the same magazine as Takahashi-sensei, whom I admired so much. I also made friends with other manga artists of the same generation. They, too, had almost the same impression as I did. The "How I've Waited For You" chapter was great. It left a tremendous impression on me. "Yeah, yeah, me too, me too," they'd say. What the heck. I wasn't the only one? I was a little happy. At the same time, I felt again how great Takahashi-sensei was. She had planted the seeds.
